The Project
Inspired by the practice in the 1700’s of printing “broadsides,” single sheets of news that were tacked up outside colonial shops and inns. It was these sheets that the people gathered around to read the important events of the day. The WeThePeople project is a series of newsprint posters measuring two feet wide by six feet high with silhouettes of people - people from different walks of life - different ethnicity - both genders - against the backdrop of the Constitution of the United States Click here to view the different versions of the poster. or more information about the project.
First Public Installation of WeThePeople
On July 12, 2008, four broadsides from the WeThePeople series were hung as part of Art Stops 2008, a project by David Prusko at the 7th Avenue Bus Kiosk between 20th and 19th Streets. Click here to view photographs from the exhibition.
